Monica resides in Charlotte, where she performs and directs bilingual productions that have resonated with the Spanish speaking community such as “The Vagina Monologues”, “Coser y Cantar/To Sing and To Sew”, and “MamaGoose” to mention a few. She has been recognized for her support of the Latino arts and culture by Art Si, The Committee of National Holidays and Traditions of Charlotte, and the General Consulate of Mexico in Raleigh, among others.
Isabella has done multiple shows and loves pursuing theater. Isabella has done The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet, Legally Blonde, Aladdin, and now Frosty. Isabella loves showing her personality through the characters and hopes to continue her path in theater.
Carole is thrilled to be in Frosty the Snowman! Carole is an 8th grader at Sun Valley Middle School in the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program. When she isn’t performing, she loves hanging out with her friends, her family and her dog. Carole’s previous performances include Finding Nemo, Jr. (Matthews Playhouse), Zombie Prom (Matthews Playhouse), Aladdin, Jr. (SVMS) and Legally Blonde, Jr. (SVMS).
Mackenzie is an 8th grader at Sun Valley Middle School. Mackenzie has been in the DLI program since kindergarten. When Mackenzie is not doing theater she enjoys drawing, playing the drums, and participating in flag football, soccer, basketball and volleyball. Previous stage experience includes cultural dance since 1st grade.
Milyn is so excited to be in this production of Frosty the Snowman! Milyn learned Spanish at school when she was 5 in an immersion program, and is bilingual. She has been in multiple shows including playing Juliet in the Seussification of Romeo and Juliet, and playing Princess Jasmine in Aladdin.
Joshua is a proud member of the Board of Directors of the Union County Playmakers. This is his 4th production acting with the Playmakers, in addition to his 10 years of theater experience. He is grateful to provide entertainment for all the fine folks who come to support the arts, and thanks the Dowd Center for their hospitality.
Laila is Colombian-American and has been in the Dual Language Immersion program since Kindergarten. She has participated in many plays such as Encanto, The Enchanted Bookshop, Aladdin, Oklahoma, and Mean Girls. Laila is grateful to be a part of this program because it has afforded her the opportunity to use both languages.
Christian is delighted to be making his debut with Union County Playmakers. He recently worked on a short film Lejos de Casa and several commercial projects in Charlotte. He has a degree in Theatre (BFA) from UNCW (and has also trained in actors workshops in San Diego, LA and Charlotte). He is currently represented by JTA in Charlotte. He currently works as a Cyber Security Professional and is a Marine Corps Vet.
Mary Ann is president of the Union County Playmakers, having served for many years in various other capacities on the board. She has worked with non-profits most of her life, and continues to be active locally in several cultural, civic, and philanthropic organizations. She is an enthusiastic cheerleader of UCP and says she has had a ball working with this talented cast and crew.
Suzanne is on the Board of Directors of Union County Playmakers and serves as the Treasurer. She is happy to participate as Stage Manager on this delightful holiday special and work with these talented children and adults.
Elisabeth is a homeschooling mother of 2 girls, who plays piano for her church, Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. This is her first foray into live theater and she is grateful to bring her talent to such a unique production. Elisabeth would like to thank her husband for holding down the fort in her absence.
Hailey comes from an onstage family but finds herself most comfortable behind the scenes. This is her fifth production as lighting technician and has been honored to run lights at the Benton Heights Performing Arts Center, the Dowd Center Theatre and for the Ansonia Theatre in Wadesboro. Hailey looks forward to continuing her career in theater and is grateful to have the opportunity to work with this amazing bilingual cast.
