I Hate Hamlet

November 8-10 & 15-17, 2024

Andrew Rally seems to have it all: celebrity and acclaim from his starring role in a hit television series; a rich, beautiful girlfriend; a glamorous, devoted agent; the perfect New York apartment; and the chance to play Hamlet in Central Park. There are, however, a couple of glitches in paradise. The laughs are nonstop as Andrew wrestles with his conscience, Barrymore, his sword, and the fact that he hates Hamlet.

A time-honored learning fable, wistfully told by our own Ben Martin, who also wrote and directed the now-beloved Belling the Cat. A youth oriented production that is fun for all ages. Performances will be held at the Benton Heights Elementary School Performing Arts Center.

Retired burlesque queen Beatrice Shelton desperately needs a vacation.A  Sassy Seniors Cruise through the Caribbean may be just the ticket if she can just convince her best friend, Eaddy Mae Clayton, to stop praying and go with her. Hilarity ensues and a mystery unfolds. If they can only get to the bottom of the whodunit, they might just make it to the cruise ship after all!

This two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, and some good old-fashioned romance!

Murder at the Belk Mansion

Jake Hercules Slanders made his fortune starting Rumours, a unique antique company selling trinkets and cast offs rumoured to have belonged to the rich and famous. Jake just died – under suspicious circumstances. Greedy friends, wacky relatives, and assorted hanger-on-ers are gathered for the reading of the Last Will and Testament at the Belk Mansion, Jake’s last residence, to hear what’s in it for them. Thanks to Jake’s quirky sense of humor, anyone in the room might be an heir. UCP’s 2023-2024 Fundraiser was a raucous success!

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst is a wonderful children’s story that can be enjoyed by all ages. The story tells of a young boy named Alexander and his bad day that is filled with one crisis after another. From the moment Alexander wakes up and finds gum in his hair he knows it is going to be a bad day, and he is correct. Children will love the mishaps Alexander finds himself in as well as his struggles with his older siblings.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

When Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism that he sees amongst everyone during the Christmas season, Lucy suggests that he become director of the school Christmas pageant. Charlie Brown accepts, but is a frustrating struggle. When an attempt to restore the proper spirit with a forlorn little fir Christmas tree fails, he needs Linus’ help to learn the meaning of Christmas.

Blithe Spirit

Clever, insistent and well aware of Charles’ shortcomings, Elvira is called up by a visiting “happy medium,” the eccentric and flighty Madame Arcati. As everyone’s personalities clash, Charles’ current wife, Ruth, is accidentally killed. She “passes over” and joins Elvira, allowing the two “blithe spirits” to haunt the hapless Charles into perpetuity.
